How to buy a house.
The sale date of each property is listed in the sale date column. You need to show up on that date in the lobby of the Grady County Law Enforcement Center at 10:00 a.m. on that date.
These are drive by appraisals only. These houses can not be looked at from the inside. People still live in most of them.
If there are taxes owed on a property, you will have to take care of those taxes if you win the bid.
On the sale date, an officer will read off the properties that have been removed from the sales.
An officer will read off the mortgage company and the defendant, then the address, the appraised amount, the 2/3 amount and the amount of taxes owed.
The attorney is up next and starts the bidding at some amount. At this time, you will get to bid on that property.
If you win the bid for that property, you will then be introduced to the attorney representing that property.
You need to have all financing in order.
These properties are as is, just like buying a used car. You need 10% down by 4pm the following business day.
The balance will be due @ the confirmation hearing which is set up by the Judge.
You will get this date from the attorney that represents the mortgage company the day of the sale.
No personal or business checks accepted. All cashier checks or money orders are to be made out to "Grady County Court Clerk" ONLY!
You just need to attend to buy your dream home.
